LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP:  Trade started up on Wednesday in the 
South, with a full range of $103 to $105, mostly $103 to 
$103.50, generally $2 higher than the prior week's weighted 
averages. Northern dressed trade took place mostly on 
Thursday with a little cleanup on Friday, with a full range 
of $162 to $165, mostly $163, generally $2 higher than 
previous week's weighted average basis Nebraska. According to 
Thursday's Mandatory summary reports weekly accumulated 
average price totals are as follows (the prior week's 
weighted averages are listed in parentheses): KS 
$103.11($101.34); NE $163.12 ($160.64); TX $103.30($101.59); 
IA $162.72($160.74); CO Not available due to confidentiality 
(private sources reported trade in CO at $103.50)

The Friday afternoon Mandatory reports showed weekly trade 
volumes as follows: KS 17,239; NE 24,902; TX 12,340; IA 
28,705; CO not available due to confidentiality. Friday's 
slaughter was estimated at 111,000 head, 8,000 below the 
prior week, and 5,000 smaller than last year. Saturday's kill 
was estimated at 55,000 head, bringing the weekly total to 
645,000 head, 71,000 more than the prior week, and 16,000 
below 2019, Note, there were some plants that were scheduled 
to be dark on Saturday. 

DTN MORNING COMMENTS:  The country is typically quiet this 
Monday morning with both buyers and sellers busy taking 
inventory. Bids and asking prices are not established, and 
significant trade volume may be delayed until Tuesday or later. 
Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with generally light box 
movement.

For the week ending September 12, 2020, Imported Beef Passed 
for Entry in the U.S. totaled 36,388, 84.37% of the previous 
week and 81.60% of the 4-week average.
